Different functionality depending on which phase the project is in

The mobile app provides different types of functionality depending on what stage the project is in. During the planning stage, you can both add new work orders as well as edit existing ones. During the execution stage you can provide activity updates, view previous activity updates and view the work order specification (the agreed upon scope).

To change the phase the project is in, you need to do this in the web app. Inside the project, on the navigation bar to the left side, you click on the icon showing the phase.

This will prompt the window where you can change the phase of the project.

When logging in to the mobile app, you will see a list of the projects available for you. If you are missing a project, make sure that you actually have access to it. You can read more about project access here.

On each project card you can see the project name, the number of work orders on that specific project and also a tag for the phase/stage it is in. If the tag is grey, it means that it is in a stage where you have the options to add new work orders as well as editing existing work orders. If the tag is green, it means that it is in a stage where you have the options to add activity updates and view updates as well as the work order specification.

Planning phase

During the planning phase, you have the option to both add new work orders as well as edit existing ones.

So in the list showing all the work orders, you have the green button in the bottom right corner for adding new work orders.

By selecting a work order, you will be taken to a page showing you the details. On this page, you also have a green button, this is for editing the content. You can add/remove images, edit the description, add tags showing what's to be included and much more.

Execution phase

During the execution stage, you can add activity updates and see existing updates as well as viewing the work order specification.

You can not add any new work orders through the mobile app in this stage, because the scope of the project is already set. If you want to add an additional work order, this must be done through the web app, and it will be registered as a variation order.

By selecting a work order, you will have the option to "View specification". This will show you the details of the work order, just like when it was in planning phase.

Below this section, you have a list of all the activity updates. Please note that if you are offline, any new updates will not appear until you are connected and the app is able to download the latest updates.

There is a green button at the bottom right corner of the page. This is for adding new activity updates. Here you can add multiple images, text and a percentage progress as an activity update. Once you are connected to the internet, this will automatically synchronise with Maindeck and will update the project accordingly.
